Dr.
William Waterbury
Dr. Waterbury was
born and raised in the Battle Creek area and completed his
undergraduate studies at Ferris State University. He received
his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry
in 1997 and belongs to the American Optometric Association
and the Michigan Optometric Association.
Dr. Waterbury makes
it a point to stay abreast of the many developments in eye
care, particularly in the development of new contact lens
designs and materials. He routinely utilizes the most advanced
contact lenses available to provide the best vision and the
highest level of ocular health. He also works closely with
refractive surgeons, performing the preoperative evaluations
as well as providing postoperative care. Thus, he is well
equipped to discuss the various methods of correcting one's
vision.
Many people cannot
be adequately corrected with conventional eyeglasses or contact
lenses because of diseases that damage the eye. Dr. Waterbury
provides services for these patients with low vision. An evaluation
is performed to assess the level of functional vision available,
and then various means are explored to provide the highest
level of vision possible. This can be as simple as providing
good lighting, introducing filters to reduce glare or increase
contrast, or special eyeglasses. It may also include the use
of various magnifiers and telescopes or even high tech devices
like video display units.
Dr. Waterbury is
available to see patients Monday through Fridays.
